Overview:
Clinical trials form an essential part of a drug development program for any new medicines. They are also fraught with very particular challenges: the burden for patients participating in clinical trials, the time and number of patients required to complete all the phases of drug development, the high risks and costs of failure at each phase, along with regulatory restrictions and interpretations, make them notoriously difficult to bring to a successful conclusion.
Add to this the small patient groups in Ireland and it’s easy to see why we’re not currently at the forefront of clinical trials. Join us for a webinar on 6th December to hear from two people who are working hard to change this!
Gwynne Morley, General Manager with IQVIA will give a landscape overview, some trends from clinical trials and how Ireland can position itself as a country of choice for clinical trials. Joining Gwynne will be Dr Larry Bacon, Consultant Haematologist with St James’ Hospital. Larry is also leading a ground breaking CAR-T trial. This multicentre global study is seeking to evaluate the efficacy and safety of CAR-T as a frontline therapy in people newly diagnosed with multiple myeloma.
This webinar will be essential for anyone with an interest in clinical trials, how the landscape is evolving, the future of cancer treatments – and indeed drug development in general.
As this is a webinar, it will be recorded and will be available to those registered even if you are unable to join the live webinar.
