“New IPHA Agreement – context, challenges and solutions”
The last two IPHA Agreements with the State, 2006 and 2012, have delivered over EUR1.2bn in savings. The context was a national financial crisis and the pharmaceutical industry has made a significant contribution to stabilising the national finances.
Now, in the second half of 2015, the economic context has changed positively. The patent cliff is also behind us and the outlook for innovative medicines development is also positive.
A new Agreement will deal with the changed context and challenges. It should be comprehensive, strategic and forward looking.
Oliver O’Connor, IPHA Chief Executive, will outline some the key issues for the Agreement negotiations.
