PMI Career Transition Workshop

The PMI will be holding a Career Transition Workshop on Thursday 17th August.  

This workshop aims to assist both past and present PMI members who are currently between jobs and are looking to re-enter the workforce. It will also be useful to those who are considering redundancy, and what the future may hold for them.

There are no costs to our members – either past or present – to attend this workshop.

Speakers: 

Mike Cooper, Co-Founder & Managing Director – OutiCO

Mike has over 20 years’ experience in pharmaceutical sales and marketing roles. Mike started his career at 3M Healthcare in 1989 and held various roles across sales & marketing, before joining Lundbeck in 2003.  Mike joined as a Business Unit Manager with the task of moving Lundbeck to a Key Account Management model. He set up the UK Business Unit structure, combining internal headcount and external sales resource into high performing key account teams.

Mike left Lundbeck in 2010 when he was the Head of Sales & Marketing for the Lundbeck Neurology Division, to establish OUTiCO (then Fluid Outsourcing) with Paul Black, with whom he had worked with at 3M and Lundbeck.  Mike believes organisations need to fundamentally change the way they sell products to Health Care Professionals and modify the structure and culture of their sales teams to meet today’s market demands.  After 6 years Mike and Paul took OUTiCO from a business with £0 turnover in 2011, to business experts in Multi-Channel Account Management, with a turnover of £2.6M in 2016, and OUTiCO was subsequently purchased by Uniphar in April 2017.

Orla Sherlock, Director / L&D Consultant – SKH Training & Development Ltd

Orla is a senior Learning & Development specialist and Executive Coach with over 28 years’ experience within the pharmaceutical sector, where she honed her skills working in a variety of roles including Training and Development, HR, and Sales Management in Pfizer, Novo Nordisk, & Pharmacia. Having worked in Pfizer for over 15 years, the last 5 of which were spent within the training department, Orla founded a Learning & Development Consultancy business in 2010.
SKH provide a comprehensive range of learning and development solutions delivering improved business performance across the private and public sectors, including Pharmaceutical, Media, Service Providers, Department of Health, Public Sector and Textiles.
Orla is a graduate of Trinity College, Dublin and the National College of Ireland and is a member of CIPD, IITD and the European Mentoring & Coaching Council. Certified in EQ-i 2.0 and EQ360 as a qualified practitioner, she specialises in Leadership & Management Development programmes, Performance Management and Executive Coaching.
